Wednesday, December 30th, 2009New Year Reflection: What Was Great In Your Life, What Wasn’t And How To Create More Of The Good Stuff!
Tuesday, December 29th, 2009With the New Year almost upon us, I’ve been hearing lots of different “year end reviews”. And, with another solid decade almost behind us, I’m guessing you too have heard a few “decade reviews”.
I like these.
They help me to reflect on all that I’ve experienced for the year and in this case- the past 10 years.
I won’t bore you with all the details, but here are a few personal highlights:
-Travel to Asia, and Central America
-Birth of two sons
-Two sons affected by toxins
-Good-bye to mainstream living- Hello holistic living!
-Really begin to heal sons
-Return to Holistic Nutrition school
-Begin an Integrative Nutrition business
-Reconnect with who I am and what’s most important to me
-Begin to connect with my husband and sons more deeply then ever
-Really begin to love myself and my life!
Wow! What an amazing 10 years. How lucky am I?!!
I’ve come to understand that it’s good to reflect. Reflecting helps us appreciate that which we’ve experienced and gain perspective on where we’d like to go.
I feel so blessed for all that I have, my family, my great health, my business, my wonderful house and lifestyle… But, I also know I want to continue to add more goodness to that which I already have.
How do I do this?
By continuing to have gratitude for that which already exists in my life AND planning and moving toward that which I want to add to my life.
So, my recommendation to you. Take a few moments and reflect on your past 10 years. If you’re feeling up to it, make a list of all that you’ve experienced (the good & the less-then-good..)
Once the list is complete, highlight those things that you feel the most gratitude for having experienced. Really think back and remember what it was like to experience these moments. Take a few moments and really soak in the feeling of warmth and happiness that these experiences create for you.
By doing this, you help yourself to feel good. And, by feeling good, you create more circumstances in your current life to feel good about.
Really it’s that simple.
So, start this year with much gratitude for all that you have. The benefit? Much more greatness coming your way!!

Sweet Dreams: The Way To A Happier Holiday!
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009What’s one of the most necessary components to having a TERRIFIC holiday?
Sleep!!
This seems to be the time of year many people allow themselves to skip out on sleep. Striving to get more done. (Yup. Been there done that!)
When you do this, how do you feel- good or cranky? Stressed or calm? Present to what’s happening in the moment or distracted?
I think you get the point.
Sleep my friends, is imperative to your well-being. Skip it and your body, mind and life will let you know. Usually in a less then positive way.
So, how can you help yourself get more sleep?
-Pick a time to go to bed and about 1/2 an hour before that time, start winding down. If you need to, set a mini “reminder” alarm that rings at the appropriate time.
-Ask your spouse or significant other to remind of your new commitment to yourself, have them hold you accountable.
-Remind yourself, if you go to bed extra early, you can then get up extra early and and get things done. (It’s actually better for your body to do it this way…)
-Review your “to do list” what needs to stay and what can be deleted or refined to make going to bed early an easy proposition.
I wish you a wonderful holiday with many z’s to catch!
Sweet dreams!

Key Words To Use: “No Thank You”
Thursday, December 17th, 2009Lot going on?
Holidays have you running here there and everywhere? Shopping, decorating, visiting, attending holiday parties, wrapping…
This year I’ve decided to say “No thank you” more and draw the line with holiday festivities. A little less shopping, wrapping, baking, etc… So far so good! I’ve enjoyed myself much more. I’ve felt happier and more balanced. And, when I am busy, shopping and preparing, I feel more relaxed. Wow! Imagine that, a calm happy holiday.
So how have I been able to manage this?
Personal Boundaries.
Using the words “No thank you” more often! No thanks to some of our invites, buying extra gifts, no thanks to extra cooking and baking.
So this holiday, if you haven’t practiced using the words “no thank you”, start now and give it a try! Doing so just might allow you to face the holidays with more happiness and peace of mind!
