Let Yourself Feel Sad Sometimes- It’s Good For You!

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Ever have a day where you feel somewhat off?

Maybe sad from something occurring in your life that’s disappointing.

Well, I’m having one of those days.

And, you know what?

It’s okay.

We all have them.

Instead of eating something to help lift my mood. Or trying to think all positive thoughts…

Both of which are great approaches.

I’m just letting myself sit with “it”.

I’m letting myself allow this feeling to be present for awhile, which in turn will allow it to run it’s course from my body.

See, sometimes when something disappointing happens we have a right to feel what we feel. And to stuff that feeling down or to try to quickly alleviate it, only leads to problems later on.

When we don’t acknowledge what we feel and sometimes just allow ourselves to feel it, that emotion stores itself inside your body- your organs. And, will eventually surface, maybe in the form of an illness. Or maybe, just in the form of an explosion of anger or sadness- from out of nowhere (so to speak)!

This is a sign of stored emotions…

What to do?

Let it ride!

Spend half a day, a day, whatever it takes to “get it out”. Allow the sadness to be expressed, cry, yell while alone in the bathroom, squeeze the heck out of a pillow. Whatever it takes (within reason, of course).

Then, wake up the next day and start from scratch.

A new day, a new outlook.

Which means, the sadness is gone from your body and your life now- good for you!

You can pull out that positive attitude again!

How To Really Enjoy Yourself, Family And Friends And Have More Time To Boot?

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

Well…

I’m noticing a pattern in my life.

When I plan and allow for more then enough time to get ready for something- the day, an event, going somewhere with my family, or whatever… things go smoothly.

When I don’t, I rush. (Like this morning!)

I feel a little stressed, I hurry my kids, my husband and I may get disgruntled with one another.

No part of me is comfortable and “in the moment”.

Now, compare this to when I plan and allow myself to have more then enough time to get ready.

Everyone gets along. We laugh, talk, sometimes fool around. We enjoy ourselves. We can all breath. Calmness and happiness is the overriding feeling.

What’s the moral to my story?

Plan.

Allow yourself more then enough time to get ready (and really stick to your boundaries on this!)

Even if you don’t like to plan- try it.

When you do, it not only feels good, but allows you to have more time to yourself (a huge asset these days!)

Enjoy!

One Simple Step To Creating A GREAT 2010

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

Ready for a GREAT 2010?

Here’s one way to help it happen.

Simply take a few minutes to write down your intentions for this year.

Here are some of my personal goals:

Achieve a perfect balance of doing and being
Love filled and even more deeply connected relationship with my husband, sons and friends
Larger, stronger and extremely prosperous business
Excellent health for myself, my husband and sons
Amazing financial prosperity
My family and I as active members of a community full of passionate, creative, caring and open minded people

Listing your intentions is a great beginning to moving in the direction of receiving that which you hope for.

It creates clarity. It’s motivating. Inspiring.

And, if you post your intentions somewhere you can see them everyday, it helps to keep you focused on the “big picture”.

There’s something magical that can happen when we write out our list with true interest.

The Universe conspires to make things happen for us.

Yes, there is action on our part, but, amazingly, synchronicity steps in and what we want and hope for then comes to us with ease…

So go ahead, give it a try!
