Here’s Another Simple Tip to Help You Gain Energy

Monday, February 15th, 2010

Do you have many things you’d love to accomplish but find that your energy level drops during the day and somehow you end up losing motivation?

If this sounds like you, here is one small simple tip to help you begin to increase your energy and stay focused.

Add to your diet more cruciferous veggies:

cabbage
broccoli
brussels sprouts
cauliflower

These veggies brake down slowly, entering into your blood stream slowly therefore allowing you to experience more sustained energy.

In addition, these vegetables help your body detox (remove the junk and toxins from it.)

Once toxins are released, you tend to feel more energized and vital.

And yes, those things you were hoping to accomplish?

Well, now you’ll begin to feel more motivated and have the energy to support “going for it” and making them happen!

Enjoy!

Foods That Put You “In the Mood”

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Do you ever feel unsexy and not in the mood for sex?

I’ve been there myself.

Here’s what you can do to help increase your sexual drive:

Eat less junk food and begin to eat a lot more wholesome real food.

Of course certain foods will help you more so then others. But, we’ll get to that in a moment.

Here’s the scoop:

When you don’t eat whole, real food your body becomes nutrient deficient, which in turn affects your hormones and your organs.

Conversely, when you put lots of real food into your body one of the many wonderful effects is you feeling sexy and very interested in sex!

Here are just a few “sexy foods” to begin to incorporate into your diet:
-Apples
-Avocados
-Celery
-Blackberries
-Blueberries
-Brown rice
-Chives
-Cinnamon
-Leeks
-Nutmeg
-Onions
-Parsley
-Quinoa
-Raw sauerkraut
-Spinach
-Seaweed
-Turmeric
-Vanilla
-Steamed kale
-Wild salmon

This is a short “sexy food” list. For a more complete list see: You Are What You Eat, by Dr. Gillian McKeith

Enjoy!

Following this suggestion is sure to make you smile! (Not to mention, a few other things as well!)

Here’s a Quick Pick-Me-Up For Some of Life’s Tense Moments

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

If you’ve ever found yourself feeling stressed- perhaps feeling like you have too much to do and not enough time.

Or, just plain nervous about something.

Here’s a small pick-me-up, and something I use myself when need be:

Drink a cup or two of one of the following teas:

Camomile
Lemon balm
Skullcap
Ginseng
Licorice
Valerian
Hops Oatstraw
Kava
Passionflower

Any of these herbal teas can be very helpful when it comes to relieving symptoms of stress.
These teas are derived from flowers, leaves, seeds, stalks, stems and roots of plants. They contain natural properties that nourish the central nervous system and glandular systems.

Try a cup today- you’ll feel calmer for it!

What else adds to feeling calmer?
Feeling focused and productive. When you’re focused and productive you manage to accomplish the important things. Doing this can induce a feeling of calm.
Don’t you always feel better when you get the important things done?
Would you like to learn how to be more focused and productive so that you too can reap those calming benefits?

Chocolate Can’t Make You Cranky- Can It?

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Ah. I had a great weekend!

Went to see the Lion King with my family and then ate out at a terrific restaurant.

Topped the evening off with delicious gluten-free chocolate from Whole Foods.

Yum!!

Actually, I think I overindulged in the chocolate.

How can I tell?

The most obvious was the fact that I didn’t have just one or two pieces, I ate SEVERAL!

Wow! They tasted so delicious, and I was really in the mood for something sweet!

So, I said what the heck and really dug in!

Today, there is no regret.

Only happiness and comfort from spending a terrific day with family and from allowing myself to LET LOOSE!

But, I do have to admit, I was feeling a little cranky earlier today.

Why?

Because I ate some foods (like chocolate and sugar) that work for my body in smaller amounts, but sometimes when I eat larger quantities of it, I can end up feeling moody (angry or sad) the next day. These feelings can surface for what seems like no apparent reason at all. But, actually there is a true reason for it.

When we eat foods that our bodies are sensitive to, we can feel emotionally “out of whack”. Sad, angry, frustrated, depressed, anxious, nervous, etc…

We can even feel as though something is wrong with us. Actually it’s not us at all.
It’s just our food creating an imbalance within our body. This imbalance then shows itself as an emotional reaction.

So, the next time you’re feeling frustrated or sad, check in with yourself. What have you eaten lately? Begin to take notice of any existing food patterns. When have you been cranky before? What had you eaten then?

Once you notice a food trigger, remove that food and watch how your attitude and emotions become substantially brighter!

Honest, I can personally attest to this!

It’s amazing and definitely worth looking into!
