Craving Something Creamy? Try This Food, It’ll Appease Your Craving and Give You Energy Too!

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

I’ve had many clients who craved creamy foods.

Before we worked together, they each tended to reach for ice cream or cheese of some sort to fulfill their cravings.

Yes, these foods taste terrific and are nice to have on occasion, but ultimately you don’t want to be reaching for these foods on a consistent basis to curb a craving.

What’s an easy alternative?

Avocados!

Avocados have a nice creamy texture and are chalk full of wonderful minerals- 14 to be exact!

Because they’re high in iron and copper, they help with regenerating red blood cells, which helps you to gain energy and handle stress much better.

So, next time you crave something creamy reach for an avocado, chop it up, drizzle some olive oil on it, along with some garlic powder, and dig in!

Like the idea of feeling energized and focused on a daily basis, not just once and awhile?

Join us for the 8 Weeks to Jumpstart Your Ability to Focus program.

In this program you’ll receive food and lifestyle coaching to support you with becoming focused and productive, and ultimately changing the quality of your life!

The program begins real soon- Tuesday, March 23, 2010.

Try This One Week “Focus” Challenge

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

In the world we live in, it is so darn easy to get caught up in the media and it’s messages!

I remember when I was a teenager, I would come home from school, grab a snack and my younger sister and I would watch a soap opera on television.

Entertaining and seemly harmless, right?

Guess what?

I recognized years later that my teen years were some of my most drama filled years.

And, I can actually remember fighting with my boy friend at the time, yelling and acting melodramatic and thinking to myself, didn’t I see this same scenario play out on my soap opera?

Yes, I did!

My mind was taking in what I saw and then replaying it as my life.

This actually happens.

What we spend time doing, what we focus on is what we become.

And, when we’re really caught up in the media: the news, movies, many television shows, we don’t give ourselves the chance to be who we really are- in a sense we lose ourselves.

Now, I’m not touting skip t.v. and the news altogether, forever.

I’m recommending that you take a week off from media: t.v., the newspaper, magazines, skip using the internet and listening to the radio.

Then, watch what happens to your thoughts, watch how your mind becomes more open.

You begin to notice things that you may have overlooked before, about yourself and the world around you.

It’s like you begin to tap into a new level of intelligence, helping you understand, think and be in a different way- a higher level way!

Talk about being able to focus- WOW!

When you remove media distractions you then have the time and space to focus.

And that means focusing on whatever you want or need to focus on- you, family, work, having fun- whatever!

So, rise to the challenge and try taking one week off from media, you’ll be amazed with the profound results!

Thanks to These Foods I Was Focused and Happy This Weekend

Monday, March 15th, 2010

This past weekend I ate more salt then I normally would.

Guess, what?

I ended up craving sugar (something sweet) MUCH more then I normally would too!

Why?

Because some foods are more balanced in nature, while others are more extreme in nature.

Those foods (like sugar and salt) are more extreme.

When you eat them, you’ll notice you eventually, usually 2-3 hours later, receive a craving, or an urge for something to eat that’s the opposite of what you consumed.

For instance, I ate a salty dinner, then before bed I wanted something sweet.

Since I ate an extreme food (salt), my body became imbalanced.

My body then sent me a craving for something sweet to balance it.

So, there are many ways to curb these cravings, but let me share what I did this weekend.

I made some mochi -Japanese sweet rice patty.

It might not sound exciting, but don’t let the foreign name fool you, it’s delicious!

It comes in a flat square package, you cut it into small squares and bake it for 10-11 minutes.

Once it’s done, you remove it from the oven and drizzle maple syrup or agave nectar on it.

Both sweeteners are wonderfully sweet and are much better for your body.

And, you’ll find it much easier to focus, be productive and feel good after eating this vs. a cookie or something made with sugar.

After eating my wonderful mochi, I felt calm, happy, and glad I ate something better for my body.

And in the morning when I woke up, I felt good, energized and ready to focus.

Had I eaten sugar, I probably would have woken up feeling tired, foggy and very distracted.

Food has this much of an effect on us!
