I was dancing in my living room yesterday morning when I remembered: Hey, there was a time when I didn’t dance much.
I would only allow myself to dance if it was in the privacy of my own home or if I had a fair amount of alcohol to drink- in other words, I was pretty drunk.
Now, I always loved dancing, I just was afraid to let loose!
Well, lucky for me (and my life) I now move freely to the music- alcohol free!
Audience or not, I’m right out there with the best and worst of them.
Doesn’t matter- I just like to DANCE!
How did I do this?
Well it’s a long story for another time, but I can quickly say now that I took small steps to grow my confidence.
Do you have something that you like to do, but you’ve held yourself back from really getting into it and doing “it”, for fear of what others might think?
I can safely say that just about everybody does!
You know the worst part?
You’re allowing yourself to limit your fun when you hold yourself back.
When you pull back from doing something for fear of what others might think, you’re playing small and taking the easy road- hiding out!
So, my heavy duty recommendation to you is to STOP hiding out!
Over the next week, force yourself to do something (small or large) that you would normally have shied away from doing.
By doing this, you allow yourself to step it up in the world- you grow, and with growth comes joy- a happier life!
So stop playing small, get out there and dance, play tennis, give a speech, do something outside of your comfort zone and ENJOY!
